Officially Launching the Job Inclusion Department

It’s official! We’re honored and humbled to announce the launch of Creamos’ fourth pillar: The Job Inclusion Department.

Creamos’ Job Inclusion Department has been designed to address what the community itself considers to be its most pressing challenge: lack of access to safe and sustainable employment. Since 2008, we’ve become acutely aware of the drive, discipline, and entrepreneurial spirit of Creamos participants who, when given the opportunity, run with it. We’ve also born witness to the discrimination and stigma that resident of the community surrounding the Guatemala City garbage dump face when seeking employment within the formal sector.

With an unwavering belief in their potential as valuable and worthy employees, we carefully molded this department to provide skill-building, networking, and workforce preparation for hardworking community members who have been required since they were young to engage in risky work to support their families. This department is headed by a team of passionate staff members prepared to act as a nexus between the formal employment sector and this talented but overlooked workforce.

The Job Inclusion Department is a true representation of the future we envision for Creamos because it will be spearheaded by a former Creamos participant, Eva López. Under her leadership, she will shape and guide the most recent way that we are helping make participants' goals a reality.
